It
was always part of our aim to establish a community facility which would be open
Monday to Friday. To facilitate this we felt that a full-time appointment was
needed. This we achieved in August 2003. Throughout
2004 the café was open Monday-Friday at lunch times for up to 70 pupils from
the local secondary school. It was also open Monday-Thursday every evening for
teenagers and Monday-Wednesday for primary school children to use after school.
A parent and toddler group meets two mornings a week and other members of the
community have used the facilities at lunch times and other times. Free use of
computers with internet access has been available. Live football is shown on
Sunday afternoons and the Old Firm matches have been watched peaceably by rival
fans. |
